The foothills of Yorba Linda provide golfers the chance to discover gold, Black Gold that is. Black Gold Golf Club is an Arthur Hills-designed golf course and its name is a by-product of its location that used to be a Shell Oil Field. The challenging layout incorporates several water features, including a stunning waterfall off the 18th green, slight elevation changes, rolling hills, and strategic bunkering. The greens are bent grass with the fairways and rough having a mix of Kentucky blue grass and rye. On a clear day golfers can view the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island from several points along the course. The 12th teebox provides the best panoramic views, as it is the highest elevation point of any golf course in Orange County.
