 The apparel maker, whose line of men’s and women’s polos is sold at high-end golf shops, opened an online retail store to serve a growing number of customers clamoring for the Antigua brand — and only the Antigua brand. “Presently, they are able to buy Antigua genuine golf apparel in every better golf retailer nationwide with that property’s logo on our apparel in addition to being able to find it in every sports retailer as licensed team-logo apparel,” said Antigua President Ron McPherson. “This is an opportunity for them to be able to buy our genuine golf apparel branded as Antigua, which doesn’t conflict with any of our present retail partners.” The company holds license agreements with the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and the PGA of America, in addition to producing apparel lines for specialty retailers and corporations. Antigua has set itself apart in a competitive arena and built a growing fan base for its golf polos made with Desert Dry and Desert Dry Xtra-Lite moisture-wicking fabrics that deliver function with a lightweight athletic drape. With the new online store, Antigua takes its sports-performance apparel into new fashion-forward territory to achieve “contemporary performance.” Customers will find a sophisticated color palette and modern-design detailing in the spring collections for men. The three new women’s lines for spring also feature Desert Dry Xtra-Lite fabrics. Styles cover a poly all-over embossed jersey polo called Flourish, a poly/spandex jacquard mesh polo called Impeccable, and the Exceed group consisting of a short-sleeve polo, and sleeveless and long-sleeve polo styles.
