Ready for Fall

Five new looks for the season that will have you looking good on and off the course.

By CATHERINE RISLINGPublished: September, 2007

This month, the bikinis are coming off. So are the board shorts and tank tops.

It's time to think sweaters and windbreakers, but before you get out the old, turn your thoughts to the new. This fall, polos continue to reign as a wardrobe staple but with a more tailored fit. Both men and women's lines return this season with argyle styles, and there's no shortage of plaids. What's great about today's golfwear is that you don't have to sacrifice style for performance.

Take a look at what's new from some top golf clothing manufacturers.

Zero Restriction
Zero Restriction has found the answer to playing in the rain. The Rain Play System ($500) offers head-to-toe protection thanks to Gore-Tex, a breathable fabric that's rainproof and windproof. Included in the ensemble are the jacket, pants and hat (gloves are also available). What's cool about this outerwear is the telescoping cuffs that retract as you swing then come out again on the follow through; the jacket's collar that's designed to position under the hat to keep water from dripping down your neck; and the lightweight quality of the pieces, which makes it easy to stuff them in your overnight bag. All this comes with a lifetime guarantee. For more information, visit zerorestriction.com.

Trigelle
The gals at Trigelle have hit the mark with this season's  releases. The Bermuda Short with Piping ($87.99) is so comfortable you'll find yourself wearing them more off the course than on. The sateen twill is flattering on all body types, and you'll love the stretchy fit. As with all of their lines, Trigelle coordinates its pieces. A fun match to the shorts is the Argyle V-Neck Cardigan Sweater ($111.99) and Back Sweater Vest ($83.99) featuring a bamboo and cotton fabric that wicks away moisture and is anti-bacterial. For more information, visit trigelle.com.

Rosasen
If you want to see what Hollywood's celeb golfers are wearing on the course, check out Rosasen, whose clientele includes A-listers Justin Timberlake and Samuel L. Jackson. The fashion-conscious will praise the cotton jersey short-sleeve Kent polo ($72) in dark brown, dark gray and white. It's the polo your grandfather wore, say Rosasen's designers, but with updated fabrication and fit. Also new is the cotton Hogan short ($89) in light blue and white.

All Girls Golf
San Diego-based All Girls Golf is the latest company to tap into the clothing market, providing performance polos for the female golfer. Pictured is the Lupe Polo ($22.50), a five-button micro-fiber shirt designed with moisture wicking and anti-bacterial fabric. In addition to navy and red, the two-tone polo is available in red and white and black and white. For more information, visit allgirlsgolf.com.

PAHR 72
Continuing to deliver cutting-edge designs for all ages, PAHR 72 has unveiled some sleek designs for fall. The All Time short, worn by SuperCross legend Jeremy McGrath ($60), is paired with the 98 percent cotton, 2 percent Spandex Fundamental shirt ($60) and the Looper Cap ($24). For women, it's all about comfort and style with the stretch Scramble shorts ($50), which feature a double-snap waistband and one back and two front pockets. The Trump top ($50) is a fitted design with just enough stretch. For more information, visit pahr72.com.   SG
