New season, new age

The latest fall fashions take a trendy approach to tradition.

Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day? Certainly not the designers at Green Tee Apparel. These folks aren’t the only trendsetters and rule breakers when it comes to golf apparel.

Every season we’re excited to see what’s new — fashions for everyone from a businessman ducking out of the office to hit a few balls to a stay-at-home mom looking for quality time on the links with girlfriends. Take a peek at some of our favorite looks this fall.

Tattoo Golf
Golfers are snapping up Tattoo Golf shirts, and in response, the guys behind the line keep expanding their polo offerings. New this season is the Santa Cruz Men’s Polo ($57.99) featuring a Red Stars design. The polo’s CoolFit performance fabric draws moisture away from the body, which helps keep you cool and comfortable. Designer details include a zippered front, contrast stitching and colored side seam inserts. For more information, visit

Green Tee Apparel
“These two pieces pair perfectly to provide performance comfort to fit the 18-hole dress code, but work right into the 19th hole lifestyle,” say Green Tee Apparel designers. The long-sleeve top — A La Mode ($60) — is fashionably functional. The fabric’s spandex blend repels liquids, resists wrinkles, dries fast, breathes easy and enhances circulation. The side pocket doubles as a tee holder. The Numero Uno pant ($64) is a stretchy cotton/spandex blend, and features invisible pockets in the front and back. For more information, visit

Uomo Sport
Ben Hogan has updated its fall line with classic stripes in hot hues like apricot, now offered at Uomo Sport in Valencia. The mock neck sweater vest in pima cotton and alpaca ($108) is paired here with the copen blue open sleeve multi-colored jacquard striped cotton polo ($96) and copen blue silk front pant in wool and silk ($134). The all-natural fibers breathe easy and don’t absorb odor like synthetics. For more information, visit

Golf Italia Couture
These new fall looks from Golf Italia Couture are perfect for Southern California’s mild climate. Perfect for a day on the course, a light jacket or sweater turns them into outfits that can be worn in the evening. Featured from the Café Collection is the Jackie pro dress ($118) in espresso. Also pictured is the Café Polo ($84) in peppermint and the loose-fitting Gia Short ($86) in latte. For more information, visit

A well-played hand is in the glove, and there’s no more fashionable glove maker than Evertan. New this season is the Tuscany glove ($16.95) pictured here with the coordinating Samba visor ($25.95). Gloves are available in designs for both right-handed and left-handed golfers. The soft leather and lycra mesh ensure a comfortable and cool fit. For more information, visit

Roar Like a Pro
If you’re looking for a great golf gift for yourself or a friend, check out Roar Like a Pro’s personalized monogrammed golf hats ($19.95) in fitted and adjustable styles. The hats, available in two sizes, are offered in black, white, khaki, red and blue. For more information, visit

Lily’s of Beverly Hills
A refreshing take on favorite fall hues, the sleeveless jersey polo ($68) from Lily’s of Beverly Hills is perfectly paired with the double-pleat plaid skort ($99). The Monterey Collection line features ultraviolet protection that’s breathable, durable and anti-microbial. Also pictured is the plaid driver hat ($39). For more information, visit

Lace up in style this fall with SandBaggers’ Fiona Eclipse dark chocolate patent leather shoe ($134.50). The women’s shoe features bronzed nail head accents and a tortoise shell pattern. You can’t get more comfortable than this shoe; its built-in orthotic sole is lightweight and flexible. For more information, visit
