 When the staff began kicking around the idea of compiling a list of 101 things we love about golf in Southern California, the task seemed daunting. It didn't take long to realize, however, that we had plenty of material to work with. We live in a golf haven, where top manufacturers, players, courses, scenery, tournaments and personalities combine to give the area some serious bragging rights. Everyone has their favorite courses, stores, memories, 19th holes and professional golfers, but after debating and flipping a few coins, we narrowed the list to 101 people, places and things that we - and others in the golf community - most love about the game in our corner of the world, and we reveal those choices on the following pages. There is a common thread to our selections, however, and it's at the heart of the reason for undertaking this project. The No. 1 thing we love about golf in Southern California? Golf in Southern California. It's that simple. It was a blast to create the list and remember how lucky we are to live here, play here and work here. And when your work here is golf, does it really get any better than that? |
