![]() Although Alta Vista Country Club ranks among the most venerable private country clubs in Southern California, it is no stranger to public perusal. The Placentia facility’s spacious clubhouse and restaurant, which offers one of the finest champagne Sunday brunches in the region, is open every day and its private card room is available for meetings of up to 50 people. Full and weekday memberships are also available at the facility, which is graced by a classically designed 6,559-yard course built over a naturally rolling terrain and features more than 70 sand traps along with towering pines and water hazards that come into play on several holes. Opened since 1961, Alta Vista is a mature par-72 course with beautifully manicured fairways, greens and tees. But you don’t have to play golf to enjoy the great amenities of this club. The champagne brunch, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Sunday, includes carved ham and roast beef, made-to-order omelets and a lavish desert table. The price is $16.95 for adults and $7.95 for children. Other amenities include a practice range with target greens, three practice putting greens, a chipping green and sand trap, deluxe men’s and women’s locker rooms, bag storage, an award-winning pro shop, and a PGA professional lesson program. For more information on the several types of memberships available or on the course, call (714) 524-1591. To make reservations for Sunday brunch, call (714) 524-3319.
