With five public and four private courses among La Quinta Resort & Club and PGA West, it's easy for a visitor to feel like a kid in a golf candy store. This year, not only has each of the public layouts received a significant facelift, but designer Pete Dye, who crafted the Mountain and Dunes tracks at La Quinta and the famed Stadium Course at PGA West, has returned to oversee a three-year refinement plan for his works. "With the return of Pete Dye to La Quinta Resort & Club, resort guests can expect to see some very exciting advancements to the already award-winning courses," said Roger Swadish, vice president of Hilton Hotels Corporation, Waldorf=Astoria Collection. The agreement with Dye Designs calls for the three courses to undergo changes aimed at better accommodating players of all skill levels. The modifications will be made in accordance with existing maintenance and environmental standards. At this point, no course closures are being anticipated while Dye and his staff start to implement refinements. While the components from the completed $7.5 million renovation plan vary from course to course, most prominent were bunker modification, cart path restoration, and irrigation enhancements. When not playing golf, La Quinta Resort guests can enjoy a multitude of amenities, including 23 tennis courts, Spa La Quinta, and renowned restaurants.
