![]() Generous and rolling fairways, undulating greens and four holes with water features are the prominent elements of a track surrounded by stunning panoramic views of nearby mountain ranges. The course was crafted by Matt Dye, the nephew of famous designer Pete Dye. "It's a fun golf course to play," said LPGA general manager Keri Stewart. "We're a real desert-style course." A mission-style clubhouse featuring the Terrace Restaurant and its dining room, bar, patio and private meeting room awaits golfers before or after their rounds. The clubhouse also has a fully stocked golf shop with the latest in golf apparel, accessories and equipment for men and women. Additionally, the quiet atmosphere and affordable green fees at El Rio are points of interest among patrons. Rates during peak seasons do not exceed $120, and they drop back below $100 during the summer. "It's a little more affordable and a little quieter. There's no traffic and no smog," said Stewart. El Rio community residents enjoy dedicated open spaces throughout the 640-acre community. An exercise facility and tennis courts are planned for future phases.
