![]() As many Ventura golfers are aware, several of the fairways have not been up to par at Buenaventura recently. However, starting April 2 through April 15, KemperSports will be stripping fairway Nos. 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 15 and re-grassing with Seashore Paspalum, the same fairway turf grass at sister course Olivas Links, which has better handles traffic, soil conditions and irrigation. “The fairways at Buenaventura have been challenging in terms of growing since the 2005 renovation. We are all very excited to have the opportunity to bring them back up to standard and provide our guests with a much better golf experience,” said Matt Mulvany, director of agronomy at Olivas Links and Buenaventura Golf Course. “With newly renovated fairways, Buenaventura Golf Course continues to be an excellent course and a great value.” During construction, the course will remain open. Golfers can expect re-sodded holes to play as a 100-yard par 3 until completion. During the two-week construction period, the course will offer golfers twilight rates all day. The fairway improvement project should be completed in under two weeks. In an on-going effort to improve course conditions, KemperSports also will be looking into installing continuous cart paths later this year at Buenaventura Golf Course. Information on projects can be found at the course’s website. |
