Coachella Valley Golf Report

News, events, discounts and more from top Palm Springs area golf courses.

Classic Club

Palm Desert
(760) 601-3600 • classicclubgolf.com
Coachella Valley residents have more reason than ever to play Classic Club. The Palm Desert facility, which recently opened a new restaurant called Bellatrix, announced new, lower rates for Coachella Valley residents and their guests. After purchasing a Classic Club resident card this season for $15, Valley residents  pay only $45 for each 18-hole round. Resident guests pay only $90. The peak rate through May 17, 2010 is $125 and includes a $15 lunch voucher. All players receive exceptional amenities with the daily rates: golf cart with GPS, unlimited bottled water, yardage book, range balls, divot tool and ball marker.

Eagle Falls Golf Course
Indio
(800) 827-2946 • eaglefallsgolf.com
Golfers never pay more than $100 to play at Eagle Falls, and each green fee includes cart, an ice-filled cooler with water bottles, and use of the 40-stall driving range. Plus, the course recently introduced a new fleet of E-Z-Go golf carts, all equipped with state-of-the-art GPS system. Eagle Falls and adjoining Fantasy Springs Resort Casino will host the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational from February 18-20. Many of the events — including the tournament itself — are open to the public, with daily tickets $10 per person. For more information on the tournament or to purchase tickets, call (800) 377-8277 or visit franksinatragolf.org.

Escena Golf Club
Palm Springs
(760) 778-2737 • escenagolf.com
Escena Golf Club is back. After a two-year closure due to the downturn in the housing development around the property, the Palm Springs course reopened last November with the Nicklaus Design layout in pristine condition and a bold, contemporary clubhouse built to completion. At Escena, lush landscaping and thousands of palm trees make each hole feel as if you found your own personal paradise. But at 7,200 yards from the back tees, don’t be fooled into thinking this paradise is a pushover.

The Golf Club at Terra Lago
Indio
(760) 775-2000 • golfclub-terralago.com
With a pair of breathtaking 18-hole courses that can each stretch longer than 7,000 yards, Terra Lago is one of the Coachella Valley’s most charismatic venues. The facility recently welcomed new head golf professional Nick Becks, formerly of The Glen Club in Glenview, Ill. Players interested in memberships will be glad to know Terra Lago has revised its annual pass program, including reintroducing the six-month pass. Terra Lago also has a special on its Player’s Club membership, so inquire in the pro shop.

SilverRock Resort
La Quinta
(760) 777-8884 • silverrock.org
Once again, SilverRock Resort is part of the four-course rotation for the Bob Hope Classic, which begins the week of January 18. This will be the third straight year that SilverRock has been a site for the tournament, and it’s a rare opportunity that anyone can play a course that hosts a PGA Tour event. Visit the website to find specials on tee times and more.

Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort
Palm Springs
(760) 328-1005 • tahquitzgolfresort.com
