Pala Mesa Resort

Pala Mesa has many specials to entice golfers of all skill levels to test its beautiful course. SCGA members can play 18 holes for $48 Monday through Thursday through May 10 (cart and range balls included). Another great option is twilight golf — tee off after 2 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and enjoy food and refreshments at Aquaterra Bar following the round for just $59. Or, take advantage of unlimited play and deluxe accommodations with one of the all-inclusive golf packages starting at $99 per person based on double occupancy, mid-week. Military personnel receive golf, room and food discounts. Golf memberships include substantial savings at Aquaterra restaurant. Also available are attractively priced golf memberships that include Aquaterra restaurant discounts.



La Costa Resort and Spa

La Costa hosted the LPGA’s inaugural Kia Classic in March, and a five-year agreement with J Golf and the resort means the tournament will be held in Carlsbad through 2014. This spring, the resort is offering 30 percent off guest rooms plus a $50 credit for each night at the resort (minimum two-night stay). Room rates start at $239 plus taxes and a daily resort fee.

Getting around Doubletree is now a little easier. The walking bridge at the sixth hole has been replaced and is now wide enough for carts. In addition to a majestic layout, the facility includes a putting green and short-game practice area. Visit Doubletree’s website for special hero and senior rates or call the pro shop for more savings through the Players Club and Golfers Club memberships.



Emerald Isle Golf Course

Emerald Isle is a par-56 executive course designed around two natural lakes. Players are invited to adjust their clubs for perfect play with the new Ping custom-fitting center. Subscribe to Emerald Isle’s mailing list and receive monthly e-mail coupons. Group and private lessons are available for players of all ages and skill levels. Youth golf clinics also are offered at the course.



Escondido Country Club

Escondido Country Club went public a few months ago and is offering the same benefits to all guests — including the ability to host tournaments and sign up for golf clinics and lessons — and membership deals starting at zero initiation fee. Current and new members will continue to receive advance tee times and access to locker rooms, among other amenities. Currently, you can play for $49 on weekdays and $59 on weekends. For last-minute specials, contact the pro shop.



Cottonwood Golf Club

Cottonwood’s Barbecue Scramble will take place on select Mondays through the end of summer. The nine-hole round begins at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 on May 3 and 17, June 7 and 21, July 26 and August 9 and 23. Cost is $35 per person and includes prizes. Also, adult golf clinics are offered 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for $20 per person. Junior clinics are free for children 15 years and younger at 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Current green fee specials (cart included) are $38 on weekdays (plus hot dog); $34 after 10 a.m. weekdays; and $25 after 2 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
