It’s been almost three years since Jay Miller took over Norco’s Hidden Valley Golf Club, and improvements around the property are evident.

“I’m a hands-on owner and I talk to a lot of my customers, and there are lot of things they appreciate at Hidden Valley,” Miller said.

For one, he has enhanced the conditioning of the Casey O’Callaghan design by ensuring the layout’s greens are in top shape.

“They’re tour quality,” Miller said. “They hold, and they’re undulated.”

A new fleet of GPS carts was recently brought in, and the clubhouse now includes Villa Amalfi Ristorante.

There’s also Miller’s Get A Grip Foundation, which promotes the importance of education and life principles through golf to youths of all backgrounds.

Situated among rolling hills and natural vegetation, the par-72 layout has a modern feel within a rustic setting. The pacing of the holes is comfortable and fun, with tests of all shapes and sizes to hold the attention of all players. The par-3 fifth can play as long as 250 yards, while the par-4 seventh is reachable off the tee for big hitters.

“We have one of the most unique pieces of land to have a golf course on,” Miller said. “You’ve got 190 acres, and only one fairway has homes on it. There’s a feeling of openness.”

What also makes the venue intriguing is location, as it’s convenient to both Los Angeles and Orange counties. The semi-private course offers affordable daily green fees, as well as membership packages for families, couples and individuals.
