Now known as East Valley Golf Club, the facility continues to deliver exceptional golf, with the more chiseled Champions course and the more relaxed Legends layout giving the Inland Empire two great options in one location. East Valley Golf Club also is a haven for golfers who like to refine their games. There’s an all-grass practice tee that is more than 400 yards in length, with a private side for members and VIP guests. The facility, which employs 2008 Southern California PGA Teacher of the Year Dale Abraham, also has two large practice greens and a short-game area where players can simulate a variety of bunker and pitch shots. Champions The Champions course has emerged as the more formidable of the two layouts. It can stretch to 7,377 yards from the gold to a more manageable 5,948 yards from the whites. Leave your ego and big swing at home, as picking the right tees is paramount to having a fun day on the course. The fairways are typically firm and many of the greens are undulated. If you want to test your nerves and the steadiness of your stroke, add a little wind to the equation and you’ll have all the golf course you can handle. Legends It’s tough to say a course that stretches to 7,442 yards from the tips is easier, but the Legends layout, which also has numerous teeing options, is a little more player friendly than its counterpart. The main difference is around the greens, which are subtler in design. There also is a more rural feel to this layout, where you can go a span of 11 holes without seeing a home. This segment of the course is nirvana for the golfer who wants to escape into natural surroundings. EAST VALLEY GOLF CLUB Location: Beaumont, off Cherry Valley Boulevard exit on the 10 freeway.
