In less than three years, La Quinta's SilverRock Resort has become one of the premier golf courses in the desert. While residents of the region are familiar with the venue, golf fans around the country will have a chance to see the course on television when it debuts as one of the four layouts for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in January. "We're very honored and proud to be part of the Bob Hope," said Randy Duncan, general manager and director of golf at SilverRock. "By being accepted, it really validates our course." Duncan expects the pros to have their share of difficult shots, but believes plenty of birdies will be available since the rough and green speeds won't be very penal. Aside from hosting a PGA Tour event, SilverRock Resort seems to have a bright future with a new clubhouse and surrounding hotels in development.
