It can easily be walked, is located less than a mile from the ocean and is a short distance to shopping meccas South Coast Plaza and Fashion Island. The course’s relationship with the Champions Tour and the Hoag Hospital Foundation has raised more than $12 million over 15 years, making it the most successful event in terms of raising charity dollars on that tour. About half of the tournament’s 1,000 volunteers are drawn from club members or their families. Bet you didn’t know: The club debuted as the Irvine Coast Country Club in 1954.
