 Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills is now offering a preview membership. One of the most successful professional golfers of all time, Greg Norman also has found success in business ventures such as golf course architecture. With design credits around the world, the Shark certainly knows a thing or two about land that presents an amazing venue for a course. Of the space that would eventually become the layout at Vellano Country Club in Chino Hills, Norman said, “I have not seen land possessing this much natural beauty in a long time.” His words have been prophetic, as Vellano has quickly become one of the most majestic tracks in Southern California since opening in 2006. The eclectic layout, with a strong mix of holes both challenging and fun, sprawls across more than 600 acres and has breathtaking views of the surrounding Chino Valley. “Vellano offers a really serene feeling,” said membership director Art Munda. “It allows you to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.” For discerning golfers seeking a private club where they can do it all, Vellano is an ideal option. The immaculate conditioning of the course — Munda says the greens are some of the best in Southern California — makes it routinely enjoyable. Vellano also features a 47,000-square-foot Tuscan-style clubhouse with an opulent restaurant and banquet space, as well as a 3,000-square-foot Swim and Athletic Club complete with a junior Olympic-size pool. Vellano Country Club, which is managed by KemperSports, is currently offering a limited number of preview memberships. Prospective members can join the club for 12 months and pay no initiation fee, only monthly dues.
