Momentus Power Hitter — Put some weight behind your swing
More clubhead speed equals more distance. Get stronger and you’ll hit the ball farther. The Momentus Power Hitter by Momentus Golf will help you accomplish both goals. The Power Hitter is a practice driver that weighs about 2.5 pounds. Hit 20 balls with the weighted club on the range and then switch to your regular driver. Do this for about 20 minutes each practice session and you should see — and feel — increased distance in your drives. Power Hitter is endorsed by Sean Fister, a three-time long-driving champion, and sells for $150 at Roger Dunn Golf Shops. It’s available in five weights, so it’s suitable for all golfers. For more information, visit www.momentusgolf.com.

Clear Golf Balls — Stand out in the crowd
Introduced by Volvik, Crystal Soft Feel golf balls (and others like them, such as Callaway’s HX Pearl, Maxfli’s Noodle Ice, Pinnacle’s CLR and the Precept Lady S) have low compression, a lively core and low spin with a soft feel. All the brands promote increased visibility, but the main selling point is their distance and feel for golfers with slower swing speeds. A dozen balls range from $16 to $25. Visit Roger Dunn Golf Shops or the manufacturers’ web sites.

Cleveland HiBore Driver — The shape of things to come
Throughout golf history, drivers have always been round. The Cleveland HiBore has changed all that. For the first time, function is dictating form and Cleveland is leading the market with this new driver that promises higher launches with a lower spin rate. The club’s center of gravity is lower and deeper than previous drivers, which means more shots will rocket off the clubface. The suggested retail price is $498. Visit www.ClevelandGolf.com.

GolfGym Power Swing Trainer and Yoga for Golfers — Don’t leave your training behind
Katherine Roberts, the fitness guru on The Golf Channel, is all about fitness on the go. Her GolfGym PowerSwing Trainer is a workout device you can use anywhere (For more, see story on page 42.). It’s small, fits in a bag and travels well. The device anchors with either foot or incorporates a closed door for power exercises, of which there are 37 options. Want to travel even lighter? Rob-erts also has DVD guides called Yoga for Golfers and Yoga for More Distance and Power. Both take the discipline of yoga and gear it for golfers. The Power Swing Trainer sells for $40 and the yoga videos for about $20. Visit www.krtotalfitness.com.
