Here’s a look at some new hybrids now on the market from Southland manufacturers.

ALPHA HI-COR V5
Using the latest in titanium-shaping technology, the Alpha Hi-COR V5 hybrid produces maximum ball speed with forgiveness and high launch angles for soft landings on the green.

Designed from proprietary Ti-Cross Distance Advancement technology, the V5 has a driver-shaped face, the chassis of a utility wood and a large sweet spot for better performance. The titanium Beta face insert provides elastic — yet high-yield — strength for maximum momentum transfer at impact.

A high moment of inertia, due to the 140cc clubhead, offers stability for off-center hits, and the centered COG placement on the face adds performance with higher launch and optimal spin control.

BANG HYBRID
Known for its long drivers, Bang Golf has introduced the Bang Hybrid, another of the company’s original designs.

The Bang Hybrid allows golfers to get the ball in the air quickly and easily. It features a low CG with a large face, and the rear tungsten weighting and patented Flow Alignment System provides an unbeatable combination.

The Bang Hybrid comes in H2-15, H3-18, H4-21, H5-24 for both left-handers and right-handers.

CLEVELAND GOLF HALO
The Halo was designed with a larger sweet spot, making it easier to hit than traditional long irons. This club’s higher MOI and lower CG allow for maximum forgiveness on off-center hits, while also creating higher launch angles and added spin for long approach shots that require a soft landing. The club is made with a 17-4 stainless steel body and a 455 custom carpenter steel face.

FOURTEEN GOLF HI-660
Fourteen Golf is a fixture in Japan, but the company is starting to gain a following in the U.S.

The company’s HI-660 combines AM 355 steel in a thin-face design, optimum weight distribution, position in the sole and back, low CG and high MOI.

The low COG hollow construction allows increased forgiveness, and the upright design helps square the clubface at impact. The unique sole design improves playability and control compared to traditional utility clubs, making them ideal replacements for traditional long irons for all level of golfers.
