EPOCH TEES

Golfers are always looking for more distance and accuracy, and the epoch-3 tee from evolve golf is delivering. Last year, 300 touring professionals recorded 22 victories and 334 top-10 finishes using this 3.125-inch biodegradable tee. The reason is epoch’s convex radius posts are wider than any golf ball dimple. This allows the tee to only interact with the exoskeleton of the ball, reducing surface contact by 93 percent compared to a wood tee. Too technical? I agree. I got them because they look cool. A package of 16 tees costs about $5, and now there is a shorter version at 2.375 inches. Check them out at Roger Dunn Golf Shops or at www.evolvegolf.com.

SCRAMBLE SCOOP

Golfers spend a lot of time picking up shots that aren’t being used when playing in scrambles and best-ball events. The Scramble Scoop eliminates the need to stop, get out of your cart and pick up the ball. Every golf bag should have one. The scoop sells for $16. Visit www.scramblescoop.com.

DIMPLIT 1070

When it comes to golf balls, there are almost as many dimple patterns as brands. However, the number of dimples has remained relatively the same — between 350 and 450 per ball. Until now. The Dimplit 1070 has three times the number of dimples to create more distance and less side spin. The two-piece, surlyn-coated ball conforms to USGA standards, and the company says it’s important to keep the Dimplit clean to achieve maximum benefits. Dimplits sell for about $25 a dozen. Visit www.dimplit.com.

DAVID LEADBETTER’S SWING SETTER

When it comes to swing trainers, golf instructor David Leadbetter leads the way. His Swing Setter will help develop your grip, swing plane, release and tempo — the four keys to a good golf swing. The Swing Setter features a form-molded grip that guarantees a perfect grip every time, and the plane pointer and clubface allow the golfer to see the proper face position, which leads to a consistent swing plane. The adjustable magnetic balls (settings vary depending on strength and swing speed) promote a correct setting of the wrists, and good tempo is achieved through an auditory “snapping” while taking the club back and at impact. It sells for $120. Check it out at www.swingsetter.com or Roger Dunn Golf Shops.

WOW PUTTER

If you know someone who’s always tinkering with their putting stroke, the WOW Putter is the perfect gift. The product takes all the guesswork out of your set-up because the clubhead has a compass and bubble level. The putter also comes equipped with a bicycle horn and — for when all else fails — a rabbit’s foot for good luck. The WOW Putter sells for $50. Visit www.wowputter.com.
