Getting Better All the Time

Improve your practice routine, look sharper and have more fun on the course.

VISIONTRACK
Get your swing on the right track
The correct swing path is a big key to straighter shots. Visiontrack helps by pointing out the route your club should take through the swing. It also teaches the proper set-up, alignment and eye position. By learning to look at the swing path and not at the ball, this high-impact plastic guide helps groove a swing that’s square at impact. Visiontrack also promotes keeping your head behind the ball. Of all the training aids I’ve seen this year, Visiontrack is one of the best. It’s simple, compact and easily fits in a golf bag. Visiontrack sells for about $100 and comes with a training video. Visit www.visiongolf.com.

DASH HEMP NATURALS
No, Not That Kind of Hemp
Without going too much into the virtues, history or controversy of hemp, just know that the hemp plant is likely one of the first plants ever used for textile fiber. Archeol-ogists found hemp cloth dating back to ancient Meso-potamia. With that said, all most of us care about when it comes to a golf shirt is comfort and style. Dash Hemp shirts are hand-loomed so they look good and don’t stretch out of shape or wrinkle. The fabric also absorbs body odor and wicks away moisture. The shirts sell for $90 and are available in yarn-dyed colors and natural hemp. Check out the entire Dash Hemp clothing line at www.dashhemp.com.

THE LAG GOLF SYSTEM
The rings get a ringing endorsement
Golfers don’t expect to make most 40-foot putts. Getting it close is the common goal. The Lag Golf System utilizes a set of rings that teaches players to putt to a target and not the hole. For years, golf professionals have been teaching students to imagine a circle around the hole. The Lag Golf System now supplies the visual. If you’re not comfortable with long lag putts, take the hole out of the equation and aim for the rings. It’s also a good practice tool for chipping. The Lag Golf System, which sells for $99, folds up and fits in a pouch that easily stores in your golf bag. Visit www.laggolfsystem.com.

VEGAS GOLF
New chips off the ol’ block for betting
For some, golf and friendly wagering are part of the game. Here’s a new twist. Vegas Golf consists of seven casino-style chips. Two are positive — birdie and one putt — and five are negative, such as water, sand and trees. Each chip is given a designated dollar value, and each golfer begins the round with no chips. Players with negative chips at the end of the round must pay each player the designated amount for each chip he is holding. Players with positive chips receive the same amount from each of the other players. The payoff is determined by the last golfer holding the chip. Vegas Golf chips sell for $20. Check it out at www.vegasgolfthegame.com.
