Spring forward

Leap into the season with a sense of timeless style.

BY CATHERINE RISLINGPublished: April, 2009

While fads pop up from season to season, more clothing lines are introducing timeless designs that won’t date your wardrobe. Savvy golf clothing and accessory designers are part of that trend. We consulted with some companies to see what this season has in store for golfers of all ages. They’ve taken a fresh approach that’s reflected in their spring offerings, from golf bags and spikeless shoes to clothing for men and women. Take a look at what they have to offer, and see what sets these featured fashions apart from the rest.

Goddess Golf Bags
If you want to add a little bling to your game or at the very least sport a bag that’s a little less athletic-looking, check out Goddess Golf Bags. The Diana bag ($2,300) is a combination of water-resistant leather and suede, and features an umbrella holder, detachable shoulder and cart straps, an O-ring for your towel and plenty of pockets. For more information, visit goddessgolfbags.com.

Antas Apparel
Get a custom fit without the hefty price tag of a tailor. Antas Apparel’s Del Mar Utility Golf Short ($120) from its Foundation Collection is 100 percent seersucker with front pockets that are easy to access, even if you’re wearing a glove. Lower pockets lend extra storage. For more information, visit antasapparel.com.

GG Blue
Leave the course in an outfit from GG Blue and no one will ever know that you snuck out to play a round. The designs are contemporary, and the fabrics are fresh. New this spring is the Long Bermuda Short in white ($88) that’s 97 percent cotton and 3 percent Lycra. The Kathy shirt in Fresh Air Flower ($110) is a combination of 71 percent cotton and 29 percent silk. For more information, visit ggblue.com.

Aerogreen Golf Shoes
Women don’t have to sacrifice style when it comes to golf shoes, thanks to Aerogreen’s spikeless and waterproof shoes made with Italian leather. Pictured is the Exotic Collection’s Aosta shoe ($289) in Black Croco, Cream Snake and Brown Snake. For more information, visit aerogreen.com.

Golfstream Shoes

Get the comfort of a great shoe with the breezy design of a sandal with the Ladies Two Strap Golf Sandal from Golfstream Shoes ($99). Pictured is patent leather black with white piping, though the shoe is available in a dozen other color combinations. For more information, visit golfstreamshoes.com.
