One of the excuses people make for not warming up before a round is lack of time. Got five minutes? Give these exercises or drills a try. They’ll do wonders for your body and your game. 1. Club swing Use two to five short irons and build to full swings. Take about 10-20 swings to help loosen up your back and hips. 2. Club rotation behind your head Using the same clubs held behind your head, make small circles with your hands, about 10-20 rotations, to loosen up your shoulders. 3. Squats Do 10-20 full squats to loosen up your lower back. 4. Practice putts Stroke enough putts from various distances to get a feel for the speed of the greens. 5. Short game If you can’t pitch or chip, toss a few balls onto the putting green from various angles to get a feel for the firmness of the greens. |
