Two-time Masters champion and part-time Dana Point resident Ben Crenshaw has been a great player throughout his career and one of golf's best historians and ambassadors. Glenn: Did you have a golf hero? Ben: Oh, yes. Bobby Jones has always been my hero. He was a genius golfer and a great golf writer. I have read everything that he's put out. Glenn: What do you practice on most? Ben: First is aiming correctly. Secondly, I want a feeling of no wrist breakdown through impact. I'm going for left-hand control through impact. Glenn: Any tips for us? Ben: Yes. I feel you will play better golf when your takeaway is slow and smooth. Also, see your pro so he can help you with the proper grip and proper alignment of your body. Finally, it's a game. Have fun. Glenn Monday is a Los Angeles-based teaching pro and author of "Know Your Swing." He can be reached at (310) 322-8924. |
