Chip Beck was the second player in PGA Tour history to shoot a 59. He has used an interlocking grip all of his playing days and talks about left-hand control in his swing. Beck just turned 50. Glenn: What are you currently working on? Chip: My favorite shot is a little fade. Lately I’ve been doing well with my draw. I’ve also been working on a neutral-type swing so I can fade or draw, and it has led to me playing better. Glenn: Do you have a tip for our readers who are working on better leg action? Chip: Yes. The way I feel about the legs, they do work in the swing but yet, if the upper body works properly, the legs will support the swing. Make sure you have a proper upper body coil. I notice that a lot of amateurs move their legs too much too soon. My tip is less is best with the lower body.
