![]() Glenn: How do you handle pressure? Kenny: I start by trying to stay calm. I try to keep my adrenaline in check so I don’t get quick with my tempo. Glenn: How does pressure affect your ball flight? Kenny: First, if my tempo gets too quick, my ball flies too far left. Second, I have to guard against my right hand tightening up. If it does, I miss it to the right. Glenn: What are the secrets to your swing? Kenny: Rhythm and smoothness. I want to feel a slow takeaway and make the same complete backswing coil each time. By having rhythm, you have control. Glenn: What do you work on besides rhythm? Kenny: Alignment and ball position. These are my two big keys. To all amateurs, I’d say work on alignment every day. Do this by just using some clubs on the ground. Glenn Monday is a Los Angeles-based teaching pro and author of “Know Your Swing.” He can be reached at (310) 322-8924. |
