Among other participants in the qualifying event were David Podas of Bel-Air Country Club, Chris Gilley of SeaCliff Country Club, Bruce Nakamura of Aviara Golf Club, Jerry Wisz of Alhambra Golf Club, Paul Dietsche of Redlands and Matt MacConnell of The Madison Club, who all finished four shots back at even par. “This is joining an elite group,” Arroyo Trabuco director of golf Geoff Cram said about Block. “We have quite a few good players around here, and it’s rewarding for all of us that he got into this PGA Tour event.” Block, a veteran of numerous Southern California PGA tournaments, last played with PGA Tour players when he qualified for the U.S. Open in 2007 at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh. Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo features a course designed by Champions Tour stalwart Tom Lehman and renowned golf course architect Casey O’Callaghan. The layout has five sets of tee boxes, playing from 5,100 to 7,000 yards. |
