The Long Beach Women's City Championship crowned its 2009 winners last week. The event was held at Recreation Park and El Dorado Park golf courses on June 18th and 19th and there were seven flights of gross competition. In the Championship Flight, Diane Kwon (Fremont, Calif.) shot 70-73 to win by one stroke. In A Flight Kayleigh Horn won with rounds of 81-87. Geri Deville of La Habra shot 89-83 to win B Flight. Miko Matics, coming all the way from Valrico, Fla. won C Flight with rounds of 88-95. Long Beach's own Daisy Jackson won D Flight with a 91-92. In E Flight Lily Maeoka (Torrance) won with rounds of 99-105. Rounding out the tournament was Jackie Minnis (Long Beach), who won the Senior Flight with rounds of 82-81.
