Twenty-two Southern Californians highlight AJGA All-American rosters

Four local girls and two local boys garner spots on first teams.

BY ELI MILLERPublished: October, 2008

Ninety-six of the country’s top juniors have been honored as 2008 American Junior Golf Association All-Americans, and over one-fifth of them (22) hail from Southern California.

An equal number of girls and boys (48) were recognized on either the first or second team or awarded honorable mention. As has been the case in each of the previous two years, the All-American squads were based on juniors’ status in the Polo Golf Rankings.

Southern California girls were particularly well represented, filling 14 of the 48 spots. First team representatives include Jennifer Johnson (La Quinta) and Tiffany Lua (Rowland Heights), who are both inside the top five of the Polo rankings.

First-team boys from Southern California are Patrick Cantlay (Los Alamitos) and Hyun Seok Lim (La Palma).
