Thomas Lim of Moorpark won the Junior All-Star presented by CBIZ MHM on Thursday after posting a 3-over-par 75 in the final round to finish with a three-day total of 4-under-par 212. Lauren Diaz-Yi of Thousand Oaks held onto her second-round lead to win the girls flight, posting a 2-over-par 74 to compile a three-day total of 5-over-par 221.
Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the Junior All-Star was a 54-hole stroke play event held at Oxnard’s River Ridge Golf Club on the Victoria Lakes Course. The tournament field featured 75 boys and 21 girls, ages 12-15, from 11 states, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and Thailand. It was part of the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy Junior All-Star Series, a collection of 11 events specifically designed for boys and girls ages 12-15.
Coming in second in the boys flight after posting a 2-under-par 70 was Jonathan Sanders of Chatsworth, who finished with a 2-under-par 214. Laguna Niguel’s Andrew Levitt finished third after posting a three-day total of 1-over-par 217. Troix Tonkham of Arleta, Calif., Xander Schauffele of San Diego and Brandon Roberts of Clayton, Calif., tied for fourth after each finished with three-day totals of 6-over-par 222.
Diaz-Yi finished three strokes ahead of Bethany Wu of Diamond Bar, who posted a three-day total of 8-over-par 224. Rounding out the top three was Katherine Guo of Arcadia, who finished with a three-day total of 15-over-par 231.
