Anthony Kim of Cerritos, Robin Jang of Los Angeles and Jeffrey Kang of Fullerton all sit in first in the boys division after one round of the West Junior Open, each shooting 4-under-par 68s Tuesday. Joyce Kim of Carlsbad is in first in the girls division after shooting an even-par 72. Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association, the West Junior Open is a 54-hole stroke play event being held on the Valley Course at Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita. The tournament field features 72 boys and 27 girls, ages 12-18, from six states, Argentina and Mexico. Andrew Cho of La Crescenta, J.J. Holen of Castaic, and Alexander Forss of Temecula are all tied for fourth at 2-under-par in the boys division. Jessica Vasilic of Anaheim Hills and Veronica Valerio of Temecula both sit in a tie for second, at 1-over-par in the girls division. Visit the AJGA website for complete first-round scores.
