Los Angeles resident Katelyn Reynolds won the girls flight at the American Junior Golf Association’s Aldila Junior All-Star at on the Valley course Robinson Ranch Golf Club in Santa Clarita over the weekend. Timothy Colanta (New Jersey) won the boys flight. Reynolds was tied for the lead after each of the first two rounds of the 54-hole event but fired a 2-over-par 74 in the final round to post a 7-over total and clinch a two-shot victory — her first AJGA triumph — over Alexandra Kaui of Henderson, Nev. Despite four bogeys and a double bogey during her final round, Reynolds came up large when it mattered most, making two birdies on her final three holes — including a clutch approach to the par-5 18th hole that left her only a tap-in. “I am so grateful to have done so well and to be playing at this level,” Reynolds said. “I scrambled well in tough situations and that kept my score consistent.” Colanta had more breathing room after each day, posting a two-shot lead after the first round with a 5-under-par 67 and increasing his edge to four strokes through 36 holes. He ended up with 3-under-par total and a six-stroke win. Collin Morikawa of La Cañada Flintridge took second place at 3-over, and in third was Christopher Tuulik of San Diego with a 5-over-par 221. Brock Drogosch of Westlake Village placed fourth. Visit the AJGA tournament page for complete results. The American Junior Golf Association contributed to this report.
