BOB HOPE CHRYSLER CLASSIC

Everything you need to know about the 50th edition of the PGA Tour's stop in the desert.




When: Wednesday, Jan. 21 — Sunday, Jan. 25.
Where: Pros and amateurs rotate between four different courses from Wednesday through Saturday: Palmer Private Course (host) and Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West in La Quinta; SilverRock Resort in La Quinta; and Bermuda Dunes Country Club. Pros play final round at Palmer Private.
Tickets: A daily pass is $25. A five-day pass is $75. Ticket packages are available.

Last year: D.J. Trahan shot a 65 in the final round to beat Justin Leonard by three shots. Former La Quinta High School standout Anthony Kim finished tied for third.
What’s new: Arnold Palmer is the host for the 50th edition of the 90-hole event, while Bermuda Dunes Country Club returns to the four-course rotation after being left out for the first time ever last year. The Palmer Private Course is the host course for 2009.
Notable: The celebrity field is as eclectic as ever. Among the athletes: former two-sport sensation Bo Jackson; reigning American League Rookie of the Year Evan Longoria; and Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Fouts. Other notables include actor Kurt Russell and former United States Vice President Dan Quayle.
Did you know: When fourth-round leader Leonard finished second last year, it marked the 28th time in 49 years that the 72-hole leader failed to win.
