Drew Brees, Superbowl MVP Quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, will be hosting the Cox Celebrity Championship next weekend, May 21-23 at Morgan Run Resort and Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The event will play host to more than 50 celebrity golfers and recently, Tony Romo, quarterback of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, signed on for a chance to win a purse of $100,000 and be crowned as the best celebrity golfer in the U.S. “We’re excited to have Tony Romo join the Cox Celebrity Championship,” said Dave Miller of Integrated Sports Marketing. “Not only is he a marquee celebrity, but he could win the Cox Celebrity Championship.” Romo will join other members of the NFL such as Quentin Jammer, Trent Edwards, Dave Binn, Josh Scobee, Eric Weddle, Lorenzo Neal, Steve Gregory, Mike Scifres, Rolf Benirschke, Jeff Garcia, Billy Joe Tolliver, and Jim Laslavic. Other standout athletes and entertainers participating include Ray Romano, Gary Carter, Rollie Fingers, Jim McMahon and Alfonso Ribeiro and newcomers Mark Mulder, Mark Prior, and Dennis Haysbert.
