David Longmire of Glendora was victorious at the Crosby Memorial Junior Championship held at Recreation Park Golf Course in Long Beach on June 23. The 17-year-old and his father drove to the course with the possibility that one of the players would not show up. When one spot in the boys 16-18 was left unfilled, Longmire took advantage, posting a 4-under-par 68 spurred by consecutive eagles on holes 13 and 14. This fall, he will return to Glendora High School’s men’s golf team as a senior where he has led the team for the past three years. Longmire’s best finish during the 2009-10 season was at the Ayala High Spring Golf Classic in March where he finished first. Other flight results: Boys 14-15: Jonathan Young (Long Beach), 71 Boys 12-13: Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills). 74 Girls 15-18: Savannah Vilaubi (Downey), 77 after playoff Girls 12-14: Amy Matsuoka (Newport Beach), 84 Players 11 and under competed at the nine-hole course at Recreation Park.
