Dennis Belcastro, a vice president for Kraft Foods North America and tournament chairman of the LPGA Tour’s Kraft Nabisco Championship, has announced his departure from both posts. Belcastro has accepted a new position with the Grocery Manufacturers Association as executive vice president for industry affairs and membership services. He had been involved with the Kraft Nabisco Championship at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage — traditionally the first major of the LPGA season — for the past 21 years, serving as tournament chairman since 2006. “The decision to leave Kraft Foods and the Kraft Nabisco Championship was one of the most difficult I’ve ever had to make,” Belcastro said. “The opportunity to be involved in a major sports championship and the deep, rich tradition of the Kraft Nabisco Championship will really be missed. More importantly, I am sad to leave the terrific KNC staff, the Mission Hills Country Club staff, and the many volunteers I have come to know over the years as part of our family.” The 2011 Kraft Nabisco Championship, the first major tournament of the year on the LPGA Tour, will be held March 28-April 3. The tournament will be celebrating its 40th year on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course. For more information on the Kraft Nabisco Championship, visit kncgolf.com.
