The Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational was held at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino’s Eagle Falls Golf Course on February 19 and 20. The event raised more than $500,000 for the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center, which provides counseling and medical needs to neglected and abused children, regardless of their families’ ability to pay. Some of the notable celebrities who played in this year’s tournament included legendary songwriter Smokey Robinson, Major League Baseball Hall of Fame member Rollie Fingers, fellow baseball star Steve Garvey, actor Dennis Farina, musician Pat Boone and more. One of the most influential figures in American music history was on hand — Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Record Corporation.  One of Gordy's best friends, Smokey Robinson, the "King of Motown" who has been one of the most successful singer-songwriters ever.  A renowned clown, Harpo, prepares to tee off.  Comedian and country musician Gary Mule Deer strikes a pose.  Comedian Norm Crosby served as an honorary celebrity marshal at the event.  Singer Pat Boone is a fixture at many celebrity golf tournaments throughout Southern California.
