Green River makes temporary switch to 18-hole layout

Revamped course consists of 12 holes from Riverside layout and six from Orange layout.

BY ELI MILLERPublished: May, 2010

Normally a facility with two 18-hole championship courses, Green River Golf Club has temporarily scaled back to one 18-hole layout for the immediate future. Since the end of 2009, Green River, which is situated with one of its courses in Orange County and the other in Riverside County, has cordoned off a portion of its land to accommodate local construction. The 18 holes that are in play — 12 from the Riverside Course and six from the Orange Course — remain fully operational and open to the public. Construction will conclude some time in the second half of 2011, and a decision regarding the property’s future as either an 18-, 27- or 36-hole facility will be made closer to that time.
