Hot Stix Golf has opened a custom clubfitting and equipment testing facility at Rancho Santa Margarita’s Tijeras Creek Golf Club. Fitting sessions take place on an outdoor practice tee, allowing clubfitters to examine ball flight from launch to landing. “This area of Southern California lies at the heart of the golf equipment manufacturing industry,” said Tom Graunke, chairman of Hot Stix Golf. “It only makes sense that Hot Stix moves into the neighborhood.” Since opening its first facility in Scottsdale, Ariz., in 2000, Hot Stix has fit more than 35,000 amateur players and more than 250 touring professionals. Graunke credits its growth to the ability to provide golf consumers with an affordable, state-of-the-art clubfitting and customization process that is similar to what major manufacturers provide tour pros and VIPs. A tour-fitting costs $125 for woods, $125 for irons and $50 for a putter, and product lines from all major manufacturers are available.
