Troon Golf has been selected to manage Indian Wells Golf Resort, it was recently announced. “Indian Wells Golf Resort has established itself as one of Southern California’s premier golf destinations,” stated Hud Hinton, president and COO of Troon Golf. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have been selected by the Indian Wells City Council for this important assignment and are confident our management practices will contribute to an even greater level of success for this world-class facility.” Indian Wells boasts 36 holes of golf on two premier layouts, the Celebrity Course and the Players Course. Designed by course architect Clive Clark, the Celebrity Course measures just over 7,000 yards. Playability, diversity, and challenge are among the highlights of this desert masterpiece, which features breathtaking mountain views and stunning water features. The Players Course, designed by John Fought, is a brilliant contrast to the Celebrity Course, measuring more than 7,300 yards. The course was completed in 2007 and features dynamic bunkering and generous fairway corridors. “We are confident that Troon Golf will help take Indian Wells Golf Resort to the next level by establishing new standards of excellence on both golf courses and in food & beverage,” stated Larry Spicer, Mayor of Indian Wells. Indian Wells Golf Resort recently opened a 53,000-square-foot clubhouse, the IW Club. The completion of this multi-purpose facility marks the end of an ambitious development project that now boasts a complete package of world-class golf and desert lifestyle offerings. Clubhouse amenities include a golf shop with a variety of retail offerings, the Callaway Performance Center that is one of just nine in the country, as well as fine and casual dining venues that offer unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. Thirty-nine Troon Golf facilities enjoy a Top 100 ranking by national or international publications, including Palm Desert’s Classic Club. |
