Los Angeles native Bobby Arranaga won the Industry Hills City Championship last weekend despite facing major struggles in his final round. The 54-hole event was held at Industry Hills Golf Club at Pacific Palms for the second year in a row. After shooting 73-70, Arranaga was the 36-hole leader and clawed his way to a final-round 5-over-par 77, finishing at 220 and winning by one shot over Dominic Lingua (221). After three holes in his final round, Arranaga was 1-under, but gave back four shots in the next four holes to sit at 3-over through seven. Lingua began the day four strokes behind, but inched closer to the lead when Arranaga began to slip. However, Lingua bogeyed both the 16th and 17th holes, mistakes that ultimately cost him the tournament. Marcus Fortades and James Lam tied for third at 223 while Raymond Ho — the first round leader — finished in fifth place at 224. For more results, visit amateurgolf.com. |
