Anthony Estes of San Pedro and Emily Tubert of Burbank won their respective divisions at the JAGS Tour’s Junior Masters at General Old last month. The 36-hole event was put on by JAGS (Junior Amateur Golf Scholars) and took place at the General Old Golf Course in Riverside.

Estes, who finished second in the JAGS Fall Junior Classic at Redhawk Golf Course in Temecula last November, shot rounds of 71-74 to post a 1-over-par total and win by a stroke over Rancho Pales Verdes’s Robin Kang. Kang finished the tournament with a  2-over-par 146 after rounds of 76-70.

Lynwood’s Javier Chavez finished third with a 151 (78-73). Aliso Viejo’s Sammy Cole and Chino Hills’s Kyle Nelius tied for fourth at 152.

Tubert took the top spot in the girls division with a 4-under-par 145 after rounds of 67-73. This marks the third victory of the JAGS 2009-10 season for Tubert, who previously won the Inland Empire Fall Junior Championship at East Valley last October and 2010 SCGA Junior Challenge at Murrieta’s SCGA Golf Course in January.

Elizabeth Doty of Palos Verdes Estates followed Tubert in second place at 1-over-par 145, while Santa Clarita’s Amanda Corr was third with a 2-over-par 146. Thirteen-year-old Bethany Wu of Diamond Bar rounded out the top four with a 150 after rounds of 74-76.
