![]() Shearn Chua (top) and Yang Yue "Kimmy" Hill won the JAGS Tour's President's Junior Cup at Carlton Oaks in February (COURTESY: Cindy Warren). The weather on the first day of the 36-hole event was brutal, with over two inches of rain and continuous periods of hail. This left the course extremely wet and flooded for the second day of play, but the tournament still finished. Chua won the boys division by beating Orange’s Ben Heisey and Venice’s Kevin Cullen in a playoff. Heisey had a two-stroke lead over Chua going into the second round, but Chua shot an even-par 72 in the second day to tie Heisey and Cullen for the lead at 8-over at the end of regulation. Heisey shot 74 in the second round following an opening round of 80, while Cullen posted a 1-under 71 after a first-round 81. Tyler Woodruff of Tucson, Ariz., took fourth with a 154 total. In the girls division, Hill took the top spot by shooting an even-par 72 during the second round, leaving Shelby Martinek of Tempe, Ariz., trailing four strokes behind with a final score of 4-over-par 76. Rounding out the top-five spot for the girls were Newhall’s Nikki Prichard (159), Palmdale’s Jennifer Dilger (160), and Tustin’s Kaitlin Park (161).
