Former USC men's golfer Jamie Lovemark made his professional debut at the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open, which ended Monday because of sporadic weather delays since the tournament began last Thursday. After opening with a 74 on the par-72 Glen Abbey Golf Club in Ontario, Lovemark, a Rancho Sante Fe native, followed that with rounds of 66 and 69. He shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round and tied for 46th, at 7-under par, 12 strokes behind champion Nathan Green. (Visit the PGA Tour’s website for complete scoring.) Lovemark announced in May that he would forego his senior year at USC and turn pro. The 21-year-old had an impressive freshman campaign in 2006-07, which included four wins — among them the NCAA individual title — and both national player and freshman of the year honors. He also participated in the winning U.S. team at the 2007 Walker Cup. Lovemark played in eight PGA Tour events as an amateur, making five cuts. His highest finishes were a tie for 39th at the Buick Invitational in 2007 and a tie for 45th at the AT&T National in the same year. Nike Golf has signed Lovemark to wear its apparel and play its equipment. Lovemark said he is "inspired by all that the company stands for." He signed IMG as his representation group.
