(Photo: Aidan Bradley) The soft opening period ends on Friday, Nov. 14, when the Temecula facility has its grand opening and unveils the prime complement to its centerpiece — a lavish 62,000-square-foot clubhouse. “We’re very excited about it,” PGA Head Professional Scott Mallory said of the state-of-the-art three-level structure, which boasts a comprehensive pro shop, upscale restaurant and lots of comfortable space to relax before or after a round. To celebrate, Journey at Pechanga is giving away a hat to any golfer teeing it up from the 14th until the end of the month. “It’s our way of saying thanks,” said Andrew Miranda, director of golf. Overseeding on the course was completed last month, and conditions are impeccable. With five sets of tees, Journey at Pechanga has proven to be a test for expert golfers, but with a differential of almost 2,500 yards between teeing grounds it is accessible to players of all skills.
