As is usually the case, a collection of local and global competitors have dominated the annual Callaway Junior World Golf Championships this week at courses throughout San Diego County. Four Southern Californians captured titles in 54-hole age flights that concluded Thursday, while the remaining six divisions were won by players hailing from China, Japan, Thailand and Mexico. Here are the results from the boys and girls 15-17 age divisions that finished Friday at Torrey Pines Golf Course. Top finishers from the other age division: Boys 13-14: Ki Taek Lee of Redlands defeated Chile's Guillermo Pereira in a one-hole playoff at Riverwalk Golf Club for the title after the two tied at 6-under-par through 54 holes of regulation. Carlsbad’s Ricky DeSantis, who began the final round with the lead, stumbled into third place with a 3-over-par 75 that included a costly double bogey on the par-4 16th hole. DeSantis had jumped out to a three-stroke lead in Tuesday’s first round after a scintillating 8-under 64. Rico Hoey of Rancho Cucamonga finished fifth. View full results. Girls 13-14: Thailand was well represented at Sycuan Resort’s Oak Glen Course — Suchaya Tangkamolprasert narrowly bested countrywoman Ariya Jutangarn by a stroke for the title. Jutangarn began the final round one shot ahead, but Tangkamolprasert fired a 4-under-par 68 to finish at 9-under 207 while Jutangarn could only muster a 2-under 70. Two San Diegans finished inside the top 10 — Minja Luo tied for fourth at 1-under-par 215, while Hee Wok Choi was eighth at 1-over 217. View full results.
