At the age of 8, Kyle Lograsso is a cancer survivor and an avid golfer. He’s also committed to helping find a cure for the disease that took his left eye.

Next month, he’ll host the Through Kyle’s Eyes Celebrity Golf Tournament to raise awareness — and money — for his cause.

All he needs is a few good sponsors.

Eight sponsorship opportunities are available, ranging from $150 to $30,000, that offer company and logo opportunities in advertising materials and on the foundation’s website, participation in the gift bag program, signage at the event and tournament participation. Spots are also available for players.

Kyle has become a local celebrity himself. A golf prodigy, he’s been recognized for his impressive swing and inspirational story. He’s been featured in Golf Digest, Golf World, HBO Real Sports and the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Kyle also has met Greg Norman, participating in the golf pro’s Shark Shootout annual charity golf tournament.

Five years ago, Kyle was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma and underwent six months of chemotherapy to help eradicate the cancer in both of his eyes. His right eye was saved — and so was his life. Today, Kyle has a prosthetic in one eye socket and a passion for the game he first learned watching the Golf Channel.

The Through Kyle’s Eyes Foundation was formed last year by Kyle and his family. The foundation’s first tournament is September 13 at Pauma Valley Country Club in San Diego County. Contests include hole in one, long drive, closest to the pin, a putting competition and Beat the “Pro” Kyle Lograsso.
