The 54-hole event was put on by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and took place at various courses in Los Angeles, with the boys and girls championship flight divisions competing at Wilson and Harding Golf Courses at Griffith Park. In the boys division, Chang shot a 207 total to post 9-under-par and win by one stroke over Bakersfield’s Manav Shah. Shah finished the tournament with an 8-under-par 208. Nick Thomas of Westlake Village and Jay Hwang of San Diego tied for third with a 209 total. Following in fourth was JJ Holen of Castaic (210) and taking fifth was Cerritos’s Anthony Kim (211). In the girls division, Lee won with a three-round total 203 and 18-under-par after rounds of 68-65-70. Lee won last year’s L.A. City Junior Golf Championship and the American Junior Golf Association's Western Open at Robinson Ranch. She also made the cut at the 2009 U.S. Women’s Open at the Saucon Valley Country Club. Following Lee was Alex Stewart of Carson City, Nev., and Cerritos’s Beverly Vatanaugulkit tied for second at 213. Rounding out the top-four spots for the girls were Raychelle Santos of La Quinta (214), Danielle Kang of Thousand Oaks (216), and Emily Tubert of Burbank (217).
