 The LPGA Tour's first full-field event of 2010 is at La Costa. When: Monday, March 22 through Sunday, March 28. Pro-Am is Wednesday, 72-hole tournament begins Thursday. Purse: $1.7 million, winner receives $255,000. Tickets: A one-day grounds pass Monday-Wednesday is $10 and $20 during tournament rounds Thursday-Sunday. Clubhouse passes are $20 and $40, respectively, and provide admittance to an exclusive hospitality area. Week-long grounds and clubhouse passes are $65 and $125, respectively. TV: Golf Channel. Notable: This is the first time a full-field LPGA Tour event has been held in San Diego County since 1993, when Kris Monaghan won the final Kyocera Inamori Classic at Stardust Country Club (which has since been renovated into Riverwalk Golf Club). Last September, the South Course at Torrey Pines hosted the limited-field Samsung World Championship. Did you know: In 1965 and 1966, professional women golfers played at La Costa in the Haig & Haig Mixed Scotch Foursome. The format — a slight variation of alternate-shot — featured teams of one male and female touring professional. The most prominent tandem was when San Diegans Gene Littler and Mickey Wright were paired in ’66.
