San Diego native Phil Mickelson announced on his blog last week that both his wife, Amy, and mother, Mary, are doing well after having surgery for breast cancer recently. In Amy's case, it has been confirmed that her cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes, which is a key factor in beating the disease long term. Mary's results post-surgery have not come in yet, but the family seems hopeful. Mickelson acknowledged all the support the family has received recently — from friends, players and fans — as an important factor in keeping the family positive through this troubling time.
