Led by UCLA, a total of five women’s golf teams in Southern California have earned berths at next week’s NCAA Regionals. The Bruins are the top seed in the West Regional tournament, which will be held at Stanford Golf Course in Palo Alto. The next-highest seeding belongs to USC, which is No. 2 in the Central Regional at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Ind. There is one other local school at each of those tournament sites — UC-Irvine is the No. 17 seed in the West and San Diego State is 16th in the Central. Pepperdine is the lone Southern California team in the East Regional, which is at Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, N.C. All three Regionals are 54 holes and will be held Thursday, May 6 through Saturday, May 8. Each field consists of 24 teams, with the top eight teams and top two individuals advancing to the NCAA Championships May 18-21 at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C.
